Advice on hard drive replacement for Vaio fw11e

Hi

I'm looking to swap my 250gb drive for a 1tb in my VGN-FW11E, but I'm worried about the dimensions - all the 1tb 2.5" drives I've come across on the net seem to be a bit bigger than smaller sizes (GB's) does anybody know what the maximum dimensions for the drive bay on my Vaio?

Cheers

Hitachi and Western Digital offer some 640GB and 750GB that would currently fit supporting notebooks drive bay. 1TB has yet to be the norm for normal notebooks like Sony.

OK, so 750gb is the maximum at the moment? do you know the actual maximum dimensions of the drive bay or are all 750gb drives the same size?

(thanks for the reply by the way)

Not all 750GB drives have the same size. As mentioned above Western Digital has one 750GB model (that I am aware of) that fits notebooks at the moment.

Notebook drive bays are different in size varying from manufacturers and models, but this does not mean they will take different drive sizes - it would be crazy in business senses for notebook manufacturers.

cheers ...
