Hi there!

I would like to ask the community whoever has the same laptop, Is the processor really integrated in the mother board?

Has anyone tried and successfully upgraded at least core duo?

Thanks!

No, the CPU is not integrated to the board, you can remove and replace it.

We have a good thread regarding upgrading CPU on the C500 series.

i just talked to hp tech on their online support and told me that the processor is integrated...

so? it is a false information? Though I didn't open my laptop to check.

Thanks!

Not that I am aware of an integrated CPU on this model. GPU maybe.

oh thanks... I'll try to read again that thread because I already did, and maybe I missed what processors are compatible for my laptop.

thanks again.

Go to HP Support Site, bring up your model. Look at the BIOS option and see if there is any newer versions comparing to the one you have right now. Download the file and just run it follow the instruction. Make sure that the power adapter is being used, NOT on battery.

i get "access denied" when trying to install it.
Can you give me the link to where you get your BIOS?

Did you run it as Administrator?

yes..
Try calling the BIOS update file in Safe Mode then? The only time that "access denied" message comes up in BIOS update is that you have no administrator right (from my experience anyway - could be wrong).

yea, i'll try it on safe mode then.

You have Windows 7 on at the moment correct? Then you can also try to run the file either under XP or Vista compatibility mode.
