The only thing I can think of is that this SP35954 might not work under W7. You would need to to load back XP or Vista then update the BIOS. Then re-installing W7

Too bad HP does not offer a way to have this BIOS loading up from a disk

well i don't know if its ok, but as I tried to use compatibility with windows vista, i just ignored the "access denied" error then it pops up another window, I just next next til it go to "verifying bios compatibility" to "flashing bios" and pc shut down auto. I access msinfo32 to check if it has changes, then voila the version changed. What do you think?
