Hi. I upgraded my Dell XPS M1530 to Windows 7 32bit and it's working great so far. Some drivers needed to be installed and through trial and error, I got most of the drivers to run Window 7 32bit smoothly.
Firstly, the BIOS needs to be updated to A12 in order to install the video card drivers. The BIOS download can be found here: http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=285129
Next, GRAPHICS...
Graphic cards for XPS M1530 are either the Nvidia 8600 M and th Nvidia 8400 M. The download can be found here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/Driver...s&type=GeForce
Choose custom install and DO NOT INSTALL PhysX! Apparently it does something to the brightness display and changes it to the darkest display setting.
Next, AUDIO...
