So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.

Hello, I just purchased a HP Pavilion dv6-3120us. Is there a way to adjust the display contrast. I have adjusted the brightness up and down, but a lot of lighter colors seem to bleed together.

Thanks.
You can try using the display manager that comes with the GPU.
Your notebook comes with an AMD HD GPU if I am not mistaken. There is the Catalyst Control Center that would allow you to play with some settings. Try that and see if the screen presentation improves.

Thanks for the information. I was able to find the Catalyst Control Center in the Start menu. I played with the contrast settings but things still look a little washed out. Maybe I need to play with it some more or just get used to it.
Cool. Since it is a new system, I would suggest that you check out another same model and see if there is any differences between your screen and the other. The term "wash out" is never good in my book.
qhn, thanks for all your help. I noticed things look as I expect them to when plugged into AC. I thought I had the power profiles for AC and battery set to the same, but looks like I need to revisit them.
There is an option in the screen properties that tells the system to dim the screen at certain when on battery. This is independent from the general power scheme.

If you still have some patience with me..... Where do I find screen properties? I right clicked on the desktop and choose "Screen Resolution" and adjusted settings in there. Is there another place?
here at the bottom you should have the option to determine how bright the screen is when on battery and ac adapter.

Thanks. Looks like those settings are the same. I will keep looking. when unplug AC, after a few seconds, I can see the screen seem to get light. Not sure if this is just how it is supposed to work or not.

If anything it should get dimmer and not lighter or "get light". I would check out with another same model somewhere and verifying that you don't have a bad screen from the start.
