I'm guessing that you probably paid around 3 grand for it, especially considering the extreme edition CPU. Given that and average notebook price devaluation, I'd say you could sell it for $1700-1800 between now and when new CPU/GPU designs are released.

However, you must understand the Quadro card and RGB-LED screen is the main selling factor amongst the CPU and RAM. The prices of the GPU and RGB-LED alone can make this laptop still worth at least $2,100 minimum I believe.

You can feel free to ask for that wherever you try to sell it, of course. I just gave you my educated opinion of what I think it's worth.

And by January when the new chipsets come out you may not get more than 1500 for this machine. As it stands now I think Djembe has the price about right. Definitely don't believe you'd get more than 2k for this machine, and his priciing is likely in the right ballpark.

Djembe is always spot on (at least til now) with pricing And in Europe at the moment a good used M6400 (specs as in OP) can be had for a little bit over €1000.

cheers ...

It will range from 1,200-1,400 the most. You have to remember with a 20 percent coupon anyone could get a high end precision M6500 for the same price.

A high-end Precision M6500 is over $4,000. Likely $5,000+ if maxed out. I purchased this on a -$900 discount for $4,000 which was the cheapest at the time for any laptop with the exact specs. All current, used M6400 for sale online are going for over $2,000 with lesser specs. It's just hard to believe to justify it as low as $1,200.

Op I can totally understand how you feel. I had a precison m6400 with the same specs minus the quadcore just a t9550. I bought it for two grand with the coupons and man it was a great machine and still fell faster than the newer processors. I was trying to sale it for 1,500 but no one was having intterests much and it was really annoying me that it may be boring looking but its capable of gaming and graphic design easily. I did a lot of. You can try ebay and I am sorry if I crushed your hopes for a high price I get tired of hearing it too espeically when your selling a new notebook. Start off at like 2;200 its deff worth that and you can take out the optical drive and put in a extra hard drive awesomness.
