WTF is Kontera?? and a fan speed question

I have noticed that on some websites random words will look like links, and when i mouse over them, mostly by accident, i get a small popup add from Kontera. is this a spyware that has made its way onto my computer, pr are soem sites just set up like this? eitehr way it drives me nuts.

And as far as my fan speed question. how would i go about increasing my fan speed. is there a way to do it in the computer...or is there a program i need to download. I tried rivatuner, but cannot sem to get it working..so any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

it sonds like you may have a virus or spyware

as far as fans go

what is you laptop config ?

Try IK8fangu or something like that

well I have noticed that they seem to mostly popup on tech sites like 3dguru and powertech. maybe its just bilt into their sites. I just ran a full scan with mcafee and no problems were found.

my computer is an alienware m17 with intel core 2 duo 8600, 4gb kingston HyperX 1333 ram cas7, dual ati mobility 3870s, **i think the crossfire is working but i dont have a crossfire option in CCC. however gpuz shows crossfire enabled. **should be a screenshot below.

I have tried expert tool and while reconizes my cards an i have set the fan speed to 60% fixed, gpuz still reads speeds at 30%. but i will try IK8 as u suggested thanks for the help

try running spybot, and Microsoft security essentials < both freebies

Those pop ups sound fishy IMO

Yep! that Kontera is supposed to be some sort of pay-per-click ding sneaked in by some apps on line Nasty bugger.

Use this free Microsoft online scan also for malware.
