M9700 processor replacement

I currently have the AMD ML37 processor installed in my M9700. I bought a used ML44 2.4GHz processor off of eBay. Is there any special procedure for replacement? When I put the ML44 in the laptop it does not boot or show the alien at startup. No POST codes are given either. Only a black screen. This is the second processor that does this. Is this guy sending me duds? Do I need to default the BIOS or pull the CMOS battery before replacement? At this point I am going to ask for a refund but I want to make sure I am doing everything correct before I do.

Sounded like you had some duds. AMD processors upgrade is pretty straight forward, especially with the Turion family.

Try some MT instead? Same speed, but running much cooler (25W vs 35W)

I purchased a ML44 processor from a different feebay member and it works great. Do not buy from robotpptd.
