asus g71gx-rx05

Thread Starter
So, here is the issue:

I was working on my laptop in my lab, and someone tripped over my power supply cord. I didn't think anything of it until my laptop power went out several minutes later.

I unplug the power supply, and wait for a while. Then I plug the power supply into the wall, and the green indicator light illuminates. When I plug it into the laptop, the indicator light instantly goes out.

I get no lights on the laptop at all.

I plug the adapter into another laptop, and it powers it with no problems at all.

I believe that the mobo is shorting out, and I am incapable of finding anything on the internet about replacement parts, part numbers, or anything. It is as if ASUS has removed all trace of this laptop even existing aside from refurbs available from a few resellers.

Is there any replacement mobo available, or am I able to replace it with a different mobo (from a g73 for example)?

Any kind of answers would be greatly appreciated....

If it's less than a year old, you can send it to Asus and they'll fix it under the accidental warranty coverage.

hello hairless monkey,
I think you have to ask the asus support directly. i only find a german page with a support hotline, but eventually the site may be shown in english.

That hot line is very much Germany specific.

A list of international ASUS hot line numbers (including USA) can be found here.

cheers ...
