Hiya guys, am a newbie to this forum but i need some help in deciding (like the million others ) on what laptop i should buy. Im mainly interested in an ok gaming lap, although i mainly play not-so-required games like sc2, wow, and strategy games (civ etc).

My two computers of choice would either be a Asus N61
http://www.komplett.no/k/kcp.aspx?sku=610091 or a toshiba satellite L650 http://www.amentio.no/PCogServere/PC...-99411499.aspx

(sorry for the norwegian site btw:s )

Asus one has a better screen, better graphics card and is about $150 cheaper, while toshiba has a better cpu. My main interest is gaming since school work can be done on either

Any recommendations? would greatly appriciate any help

ok, yeah i guess i did , thanks just wondered if the worse cpu will make the better gpu not as efficient

The graphics card is not limited by the CPU, but used in conjunction with it. Some games that require more CPU power might run slightly better on a system with a better CPU and worse graphics card, but in general most are bound by the graphics card.

It is not so simple to say if a worse CPU would drag down a better GPU, or vice versa. But a CPU is much easier to upgrade when needed than the GPU upgrade

And Djember said it perfectly-

ok, just one more question and ill leave you guys alone:
Will the hyper memory thing on the 5650 card make it somewhat more comparable to the 5730 (since this is apparantly only a higher clockspeed 5650 or something?)
Sorry for the nitpicking, just want to be sure
Thanks again for all the help to a newbie

The GPU itself plays no additional role in the Hyper Memory since this data transfer rate is relying on the fast data transfer mechanism within PCI-Express; and the chipset of the board.

Fast ram, fast drive and good chipset will push the GPU to its limit

cheers ...
