Idea for Sager Symbol!!

I had some ideas for an Icon fitting sager's image and I came up with these :-

1] Shark : Circular icon with the sharks maw as you can see on the cover of the Jaws movie : http://www.jawsmovie.com/bin/imgdisp...&iw=285&ih=391 actually what you see tiled in the background is what I am talking about...the MAW

2] A bull with sharp (lol) horns and a ring through its nostrils...

3] A holographic badge of the earth...

4] Radioactive Symbol - courtesy Direwolf...

5] Blank Space for your own sticker - also courtesy Direwolf...

Peeps - come up with something better please...

I got something better GS, how about a lil square patch where you can order your own sticker and place it there like the alienware cases have.

I have a sticker (bubbley one) that says

Warning:Overclocked

with a radioactive symble in the middle

All that Chrome would just get hot easier (especially if you were computing in direct sunlight). I'd rather have semi-translucent keys with a soft blue or orange glow... nothing overly bright, but just enough to say, "Cool."

I like the carbon case... be a bit pricey and would inulate heat too well, but a nice idea for durability vs. weight issues.

But I still like my idea about sewing in a battery pack into the carrying case of the laptop - this will be a mega battery pack which along with the batteries inside the laptop can propel the laptop for over 10 hrs. It can be charged by plugging the retractable plug into any socket the case should have a built in battery monitoring module with an LCD display and audible alarm...

That will be sweetness!!!
I think we need to have a kinetic battery to it(You know like on flash lights where you turn the crank LOL... get some exercise while using the laptop....

True but...

Chrome will heat up ? it is a highly reflective surface and will not retain the heat as much as plastic will. Besides - its only the hinges and the accents around the laptop - I doubt that will affect the performance in the sun...

Carbon fibre will look cool because of the various shades - like having a b&w version of the chameleon color scheme

The laptop will be lighter and stronger and cooler.

I like the idea of backlit keys too - I wouldnt mind aluminium keys that will look snazzy on a predominantly black laptop...

Hee hee - but out of all those ideas - the most practical one seems to be the battery pack in the carrying case

Now we're getting somewhere

Looks like someone wants to bulletproof their laptop

How about Kryptonite??

I like the carbon fiber or chrome idea, carbonfiber would be less expensive though

im sure they could figure out a better way to get the heat out

Aargh!!!

Its carbon fibre and chrome!!! hand in hand!!!

Gimme an 60's hot rod - thats the look I wanna Black and chrome !!!

hee hee

How about a mimetic poly-carbon "smart" material that mimics its surroundings (not my idea - borrowed it from science fiction author William Gibson)? Stealth lappy...

Anyway, all this talk of black and chrome is very cyberpunkish.

Why not just have a fibreglass case, that way, we can add fender flares and patch up chips with bondo and sanding?

This is all getting far too silly for me, I'm heading back to the Jelly Doughnut debate...

also you can only connect 1 device per channel on it.. 1 Cable each drive... don't see it as the parallel ide killer at this point..and no serial ata cd-roms yet..
Well, there are also a lot more channels, I think. They come out of the motherboard in a spider web configuration, and each cable has one channel to be plugged into one device. It's probably faster, since you don't have two drives using a single set bandwidth. Also, do they even make CD-rom drives that use ATA100 bandwidth?

They do make Serial to parallel converters, so you can connect your older drives to an SATA motherboard.

Carbon fiber, being a composite, will probably be a pretty good insulator. May cause the laptop to overheat. However, I heard somewhere that they are developing a methane based cooling device for laptops. Its operating principle resembles a refridgerator's sans a compressor, using condensation within very fine tubes as its compressor. That's what I'd like to see in a Sager, a crazy cooling system for overclocking. And maybe an oled screen
