Actually rambus is now being licenced more freely and cheaply i believe that sony is going to use the ram in their next gen playstation(ps-3-4) and it will be a much thinner model than before so the next gens of rd ram will be running much cooler...
i have the 800 fsb in my machine and it doesn't run any hotter than any of my previous machines... so it seems that its a little early to discount it yet but whenever i price the stuff the price seems to go down...when the manufacture more as well, it'll flood the market and prices will drop dramatically...when all is said and done however, synthetic diamond wafers are the shape of things to come... making silly-con a thing of the past.-hope this helps-jinx
