Phase 3...Question for owners

Thread Starter
I ordered my laptop about 2 weeks ago and almost immediatley it went from phase 1 to phase 3. Here it is over a week later and I'm still in phase 3. How long is phase 3 supposed to take? I understand there are many variables in determining this time, but how long was it for all of you?

So I'm not the only one stuck here! though not nearly two weeks, I've been stuck in phase 3 for the past 4 days and it's beginning to bug me. You should call them up and find out if your system is still actually in phase 3, and if it is, ask why the hell it hasen't moved. 2 weeks is absurd for waiting for config verification.

I am in phase 9 since April 14th

Are you serious!? 3 weeks in phase 9?! What did you order and why the heck haven't you called them and harrased them??

StNc, I'm concerned about your offer to help speed up the movement of these orders... How could you actually do that? Are you affiliated with AW in some way? And if so, what way? Can you verify this?

Guys,

You will NOT move out of that phase until they're in stock on the parts. You're looking at a few weeks.

Now I'm a bit confused Craig. Based on my discussions with AW support staff, the delay should not impact my phase movement until around phase 8 and 9.

took me 1 day

Well darn you =P

lol...at first i thought it was 3 days, but I didn't know that they didn't work on weekends

Lolz! I got to phase 3 on Tuesday and have yet to move...

I'm sorry..I should restate my previous post.

You will not move out of the Pre-Build phase until they have the bin full of the parts needed to build your machine.

Guys...I can't impress upon you how little all of this stress is really doing you. Trust me (all of us!) we've been through it. Just ignore their website's phase information as it will drive you nuts...watch an NBA or NHL playoff game, go to the park, whatever...Nothing will make the phases go any faster than Alienware is able to do left to their own devices.

You cannot change the course of the waiting. It is what it is.

Yeah... but still... if I were 2 days later I could have gotten wireless... (and a $9 price drop.) so I've gotta keep track w/ it.
The only thing I would recommend keeping up with is pricing. I logged on every morning and put in my exact specs to see if there were any fluxuations in price.

If the price goes down, AW is kind enough to refund you the difference.

The reason I am still in phase 9 is because I changed my order and upgraded before I even received my new computer (lol). I ordered on March 8th. Like Craig said its no big deal, when they get the parts to build my computer they will build it and then ship it. Until then I use my old computer waiting for the new one. Yes, the wait is long but it will be well worth it. And why call AW thats not going to do anything its not like they can do anything about the back-order can they?

It's a good point. I guess I just enjoy harrasing them . Nah, this Maria Lopez person that I've been talking to over the past couple days has been really really nice and very helpful. I can only hope that I can keep my mind off the rig until it gets here. Until then I'll be working on getting my digi camera working so I can take the pics to go with my review.
