Gateway 4540GZ reassemble

dont laugh a friend wants me to put the laptop he took apart back together and i have most of it done but he does not know where to connect the wire for the power on button which as you all know without that connected he has a nice paperweight.

gateway isnt much help as after clearly stating what i was looking for they sent me to how to hook up the ac adapter and another to how to turn the power on with the button can we say duhhhhhhhhhhhh

some males should not mess with things

Would you have a pic as what part of the power on button you are talking about? Usually the power on button is part of the bezel connecting to the board by a flat small cable - straight forward.

That type of connector must be straight forward to connect if there is the spot on the mainboard. Can you upload a pic of the top case without the keyboard and top casing?

pic 0128 and 0127 are the under the keyboard there are 2 wires ne being the power and the other that i have no idea what it is I am really tempted to throw this at him <grin>

Wow ... We would need some schematic for this

Would it simpler to get another power connector cable, from the board to the power bezel?

Let me me get back to you tomorrow - my co-worker, an expert on this, is gone for the day. It's early evening here at the moment.

That's the whole cable/board assembly - I think - connecting the power bezel and the main board.
