Since the FX2700M in my M6400 cannot handle the newer games, I decided to buy myself an upgrade

BUT...... I totally forgot the FX3700M has a dual pipe heat sink...... Does anyone know how/where to get one?

Did your FX3700 not come with the pipes ?

You can try to find it on Ebay it you just bought the card less the heat sink.

you also need to make sure your heat sink assy covers all the video ram chips etc, so you may need to get thermal pads for them

Ya man, mine didn't come with the heat sink. I tried eBay but all the sellers told me they dun have a spare one for sell....

So sad....

Well you can try calling Dell, they may sell just the heat pipe assy.

otherwiese your going to have to keep an eye out for a dead GPU and use the Heat Pipe from it.

Look in the for sale section here as well.

It maybe possible to use your FX2700 heat sink assy, just compare the two bare cards and make sure the thernal pads cover all the memory chips

The fx2700 and 3700 cards are physically the same size I beleive it is only the gPU chip, and additional memory chips that are different.

Of course you will have to keep an eye out on the temps until such time you can locate a dual heat pipe assy.

Dead GPU is a good point, perhaps I will have to make eBay my homepage from now on
