got my friends alienware laptop here i have had to install a new hard drive in it for him. Problem is now the alienware respawn v2.0 disc will not work.

It does the installing files bit then goes to a screen with an alien type thing on the right hand side of the screen then just re-boots and goes though the same process and the carrys on doing that.

any ideas?

thanks chris

if you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system

Hopefully someone can chip in for you. My personal thought is either BIOS or hardware (the replacement card) issue.

May be, this one will be of help:

just use one of ATI Radeon Series like HD 2400 XT.

This one, of course, is much cooler than Nvidia 8600GT and runs
as fast as 8600, may be a little slower, but just a tiny bit .

P.S.: I have heard of guys, that have tested an 8600GT in a M5500 R3.

I have run it once, too . ... But dont wanted to buy it because of modified (=strongly cutted out) cooler system there (what was freaking me out ... ).
