Precision 6300, jagged red lines on screen

Dell precision 6300
C2D 2.8
Quadro 3600m
160gb HD
windows7 32
modded regular quadro drivers (not sure of version)

I've been really testing and blasting my faithful 6300 with every new game under the sun at more or less max graphics over the past few months. But recently it starts hanging and making wierd noises similar to the jarring sound a modem dialing up makes, forcing me to hard reboot, this was happening even when browsing pictures or having a few menial tasks running.

During playing Mafia 2 yesterday I get a tear in the graphics and then a black screen, I reboot it back up and once it reaches windows, the graphics are a mess with random fizzling static parts over the screen, i figure this might just be a overheating problem and think nothing more , so I turn it off and leave it to cool down. Upon starting it again I get wierd red lines this time upon bootup and even in the bios and when ive booted into windows, the gfx card isnt even recognised.

I'm wondering would it be worth trying to bake this card or just purchase a new one? if so does anybody know where I can buy one from in the UK? as ebay is useless. If its not worth buying another quadro 3600, can somebody suggest something similar in power terms that's compatible?

I can't open it right now to look as i'm stuck on Uni campus till next week and my screwdrivers and stuff are back at home.

If you are still able to boot, and into Windows at that, then I recommend first a good clean up (inside) and applying new thermal paste.

We have a sticky here that can assist you in choosing another card should you decide to go that route. Good luck.

cheers ...
