Tired of all those Android tablets with 16:9 aspect ratio displays? Well, Velocity Micro has one for you. It’s called the Cruz T103, and it started shipping last month. But the folks at Laptoping noticed that Velocity Micro is also shipping anew model called the Cruz T301 tablet which has a 4:3 display.

Both the T103 and the T301 run about $250, and both have 7 inch diagonal displays. But while the T103 has an 800 x 480 pixel screen which is good for watching widescreen movies, the Cruz T301 has an 800 x 600 pixel display which may be better for reading web pages and eBooks.

The Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet T301 has 256MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. It also comes with a 4GB SD card. The tablet has 802.11n WiFi and a battery that the company says is good for more than ten hours of run time. The tablet has a capacitive touchscreen display and runs Google Android 2.0.

Interestingly, the T103 tablet has twice the RAM, at 512MB and Velocity Micro says the T103 also has support for additional audio and video codecs. While the T301 supports MPEG-4 and H.264, the T103 also supports H.263, MOV, and AVI videos. It looks like the company is really pushing the T103 as a media tablet, and the T301 as more of a web tablet/eBook reader.

Neither tablet comes with the Android Market preloaded, but you can download and install some third party apps using the Cruz Market.
