We have GenTECHPC in house that sells and supports ASUS, but price might not be able to compete with either Amazon or NewEgg - 100 bucks sometimes can drive people to bargain houses even though support is not the same

As far as going down in price or on sale, any notebooks regardless brand and model will go down and causing buyer remorse within one-two weeks.

Which site do you think has better support/warranty? And does anyone know anything about Square Trade? They have a 3 year warranty, but I've never heard of them...

If we talk about support as in queries and answers I doubt that Amazon and NewEgg can do anything but referring your questions to a 3rd party or direct to the manufacturers support site. Warranty is needed when a system has to be replaced (and/or repair) - Square Trade is for me just like an insurance company, it will get your comp to a 3rd party to decide if the system can be repaired or replaced.

Debating whether to buy the laptop in the next day or two...or wait until after new years. Sort of hoping there might be a discount of some sort on the laptop. Any thoughts?

Also read something about Asus and Dell doing business with each other? Will that affect sales/products?

Drat, just found another laptop that looks good. MSI's GX660R or ASUS G53JW?

Flip the coin I would say. It is hard to decide with nowadays machines that are so close in specs and performance. Try reading the review sections here for every brand and see if it can help you in tilting towards fewer favorites.

I just noticed it was the first you suggested sorry about that. I think I'll go to Best Buy and look at was a glossy and matte screen look like and decide that way. The MSI has a glossy screen and the G53 has a matte screen correct?

I'd be willing to bet that the G53 has a glossy screen. The computer I'm typing on, an Eee 1001P netbook, is one of only 3 Asus models I know of that have come out in the last year with matte screens, and the other 2 are part of the business-centric B series.
