There are 2 entries in Pqservice that once I do a system restore or burn recovery disks may activate when used, even though I know what to do to head it off I'm wondering if I can remove before making backups.

I am not sure about that myself. Why don't you make 2 sets of backup - one with the mentioned entries, and one without those 2 entries - and see which one works?

I just went to erecovery and it has option to make factory default disk, I would assume that it would be dvd as it says a maximum of 4Gigs. My player is PHILIP CDRW/DVD 5265
I don't think it's a burner, why would they give option if it's not possible without external burner.
I wonder if it's possible to burn image to my other usb hdd and then burn from other computer.
Do you think it's possible and do I need to format drive.
The drive doesn't have anything on it, but, itis formatted fat32.

I tried to use the 4 cd's about 3x's and each time it stopped at C:\DOTNETFX\DEP.MGR,
I googled and couldn'ty find anything.

Well this is what I googled as to possible reason of non-completion.

Myths and tales ...

The Factory default image DVD , can recover busted Acer boot record , by just installing it on the laptop...... ( Alt - F10 on boot not function)

No way people .. The Factory default image DVD, made by your computer, does not do that .

I will speculate , that ACER did that deliberately.
Only the factory made DVD will do that , repair the boot record , and store the files on the hidden partition , but not for free .

Notes :
1) If you have delete the hidden partition and files , its no more possible to create the " Factory default image" DVD.
2) If you have create the " Factory default image" DVD , you can restore your system at any time , By keeping in your hard drive the three partitions structure , and always at FAT32 .

Disk 0 - Part 0 (hidden ) 4GB
Disk 0 - Part 1 C: (size not matter) Max 120GB
Disk 0 - Part 2 D: (size not matter) Max 120GB

Fat32 limit for 16bit applications are 127.53 GB , then its possible to get corruption on your data .
So , one reasonable choice will be to stay at 120GB, and if you have larger drive made another partition.
Disk 0 - Part 3 E: (size not matter) Max 120GB
I tried Factory Default Disk not Factory made Dvd on raw 160Gig hdd.
Then I tried partitioned.
Neither worked.

Now I'm going to try my other 2 options which I think only 1 will work.
1st. Make 3 partitions and try to install without PQService in place, this 1 is iffy (don't expect it to work).
2nd. Use clonezilla to put Original image on hdd and erase data on the other 2 partitions, leaving PQService and use factory default disk.

Keep at it - you might be the 1st one that would make it work

Another update:
I took the original image that I started with,
I didn't delete additional entries, and deleted the Windows partition that M$ helped me install and replaced with empty fat32, btw this was actually the D:\ drive before the M$ help.
When they helped it became labeled as C:\. Which was confusing, because gparted saw it as hda3 extended with hda5 inside.
So after deleting and reformatting , then I deleted D:\ which was labeled as hda2 & made it an extended logical partition and fat32.
I tried system restore with cd's but they didn't work they stop at C:\DOTNETFX\DEP.MGR again.
I had to set PQService to boot because RTMBR.BIN wasn't installed. I let it do it's restore & tried system restore buttons they didn't work. So I logged in to safe mode and copied MBRWRWIN.EXE & RTMBR.BIN, rebooted and went logged in to my account and installed, then reran system restore.
Before updating I went to Avira and downloaded directly from there site and ran it & it found nothing.
After doing that I went directly to Malwarebytes site, downloaded, ran it and it came back with nothing.
Tomorrow I'm going to burn another set of restore disks, even though it's unnecessary, being that I have a full image. Actually I'm going to make another image of only PQService and put on 4Gig drive.
Then I'll do updates and if there are problems they should detect immediately.
Either my restore disks were corrupted or they have uuid of the drive they came from.
I'll update tomorrow.

Today I burned factory default disks and used them, it was a success.
So now if I have problems I have options as to how to restore system.
I'm still going to clone PQservice to 4Gig drive, I'll do that tomorrow.
