Help! Dell XPS17 vs Asus G53jw-A1

I need to find a laptop with at least 1.5 tb of harddrive for video and photo storage and editing and need it to be fast. Do I really need an i7 or what do you recommend? I've looked at the Asus G53jw-a1 because it has 2 harddrive bays.

Any help and advise is greatly appreciated!
