Cheap Macbook Pro

I'm looking to buy a Macbook Pro at the lowest possible price.

Does the Apple store sell display models at reduced prices?

Is it possible to buy formerly leased or rented Macbook Pro's at a significant discount?

Apple's refurbished prices aren't that much of a savings. Can I do better?

2nd hand from an acquaintance is the best bet, as I found out long time ago. Apple macbook does hold good resale value, even on eBay.

cheers ...

It doesn't make any sense. Why would anyone even consider buying used when for just a little bit more they can get a brand new notebook with full warranty?

You got me, if you ever find out why, do share

But we are talking about Apple here, their dings defy common sense

Apple refurbs are 15-25 percent off...and they come with a full warranty. That's not a savings?!

I've been looking at Apple's prices recently and the savings are close to 11% (for a 15" Macbook Pro with i5 CPU).

I'd love to find one for 25% off.

What is cheap? (relative to retail pricing, that is) What model are you looking for?

I'd like to find a used/refurbished or off lease 15" Macbook Pro (i5, high resolution display) for about $1200. It could have some blemishes, but everything must be working and have some sort of warranty.

The best I could find is about 10% off of list. Why would anyone pay so much for used when for just a little more you could get something brand new?
