Backpack for 18.4" laptop recommendations?

Hello folks,

I'm in the market for a backpack that will accommodate my (Aspire 8943g) 18.4 inch laptop. My requirements are:

1.) Must fit laptop without having to force it in.
2.) Must have a compartment for 1 or 2 text books.
3.) Must have a water bottle holder.
4.) Must have room for my peripherals (ie, mouse, power supply, mini surge protector, etc).

My budget is around $50-$80.

Your help is much appreciated!

I personally think that Lowepro Transit Notebook Backpack is close to what you need.

Thanks for the recommendation. Those Lowepro backpacks are real nice, but they have a maximum size that fits 17" laptops . It sucks, because almost all the backpacks that I've found were only about 1" off from fitting my laptop. I've searched Amazon, Walmart, Newegg, Staples, Office Depot, Ebay with little luck. I'll keep searching...

That is what they say but the measurement is 19.3" long - a rare size for backpack.

I ended up ordering a Toshiba 18" Extreme Backpack. I bought it from Provantage for about $50 shipped. I read one review that said they were able to get their Toshiba 18.4" laptop to fit in it. My laptop is almost identical in terms of dimensions so I have high expectations.

Turns out that Provantage went out of stock before they could fulfill my order. The good news is that I was able to purchase the same backpack from Buy.com for just a little more. It has already shipped so I'm hoping I'll get it sometime this week. I'll definitely post my observations when it arrives.

Cool - I wish somehow these backpack manufacturers can incorporate the special weight reducing traps that would make the whole pack weighing 50% less when carrying on your shoulder. They make these straps for camera and tripod, why not for backpacks?

Woohoo! I got my backpack today. Here's what I think about it. First impressions... It's more compact than what it appears in the photos on Toshiba's site. I like it this way because it doesn't look like I'm going for a hike to Mt Everest. The most important feature is that it fits my Aspire 18.4" like a glove. It even has a little play, so it's not in there with a death grip. The backpack expands as you add more baggage (ie, books, Folders, second laptop, peripherals). It's nice and light. I really like the color, navy blue and black. There are plenty of pockets. The shoulder straps are well padded, as is the back, and feels comfortable when worn. The quality is impressive, the stitches, zippers and compartments show no sign of defects. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. If you have any questions, or feel I've left something out, then please let me know and I will be happy to answer your question(s).

Cheers!

No worries, I have a robotic slave. The only pains I'll feel is the pain in my neck if my robot complains .
