Thanks, but what i do no understand is when i disconnected the internal wlan device and put the 3COM wlan card into the cardbus, i had the same problem as with the internal wlan device. But i am also not a pc-wizzard, only a father with 3 children(one still at home) who works in a tower crane :-) 5 years ago, i hardly found the startbutton on my pc. The notebook was from my oldest son and when the hdd died, the notebook went into a box untill now. I am glad that i found these two sites, there is a lot of information on it(and helpful people). I do not know what an omega driver is, but i will search for it.

- Omega Drivers: kinda modded ATI driver for notebooks.

- What did you mean by disconnecting the internal WLAN device? From within devices manager?

Yes, from within devices manager and i had the same problems with the 3Com wlan card after restarting. After that, i removed the internal wlan from the notebook, placed the 3Com wlan card into the cardbus and had also the same problems when restarting the notebook.

The only thing I can think of is that your PCI bus controller is probably gone. But as mentioned above, you might want to find another internal WLAN card and try it out, just to be sure.

Are you sure that you're trying to connect to the right wireless network?
It maybe that you're trying to connect to a network and it's saying limited or no connectivity, or wrong configuration.

If you don't know password
Do a hard reset on router, unplug it for a little while, then plug it back in, then you can access it.
Maybe 1 of the kids put password on network.

I believe that it was more like with the card in, the system kinda crashed

I only say that it's a possibility because there's no notation of actual attempt to connect to network.
I use to attempt to establish new network just to find out that M$ already setup and all I had to do was right-click and select network and input key.
I'm thinking that a step could have possibly been missed.

Before you can connect to a network, you must be able to do something on the notebook(see the start of my topic). When i restart the notebook, i do not can do anything with the cursor or board. With the usb wlan stick, i do not have that problem and anything works and i can connect to a network.

All went well but when i tried to install the Ati driver and restarted the notebook, i could not move the cursor anymore and do anything.
I've had this problem only when I have to log in, so my work around was to set to turn off all other accounts and have auto login.
If you allow auto login the driver will load after a while.
Found New Hardware.
Another workaround use usb mouse to login and wait.

Anyway I hope that this resolves problem.

With the software from the usb wlan stick(conceptronics) and when i do not put the wlan stick into the usb port, i can use the internal wlan card also without problems. I did put the networkcontroller that was original there(on device manager) on inactive(shut down). I did not use autologin(not safe). I do not understand how this is possible?

Back to driver issue then?

i turned of the auto login(register) and i installed the ati software, after restarting everything was oke. But when i restarted for the third time my notebook(still with auto login off), i had the same problems. I did system restore in safe mode(made a restore point before i turned the auto login off) and i think, i let the notebook, like it is, now. :-(

So is it working?
Do you think it is going to be solution.
Sometimes it takes a few minutes to load driver did you wait until it loaded?

The notebook is working(without the ati ) like before. I returned with system restore to the point before i turned of auto login and installed the ati. I stop trying to install the ati software. Thank you both for your help. :-)
