Hi folks,

I have an old D470W. Actually its labelled an Iridium Starbook, but its a Clevo D470W.

In the manual it says max memory is 1gb. I currently have 2x512 sticks in there. Did anyone ever try putting more than that in there to see if it would accept it? I can get sticks of 1gb pretty cheap at the moment...

Its otherwise going fairly strong, even running Windows 7! But would love to get a bit more mem in there if poss.

Thanks!

Gary.

Can always try - with small increment at a time - you might be the pioneer.

It is a great laptop, I had two, but decided to sell them on (like an idiot)... They will take 1Gb sticks of DDR333 Ok, I used Corsair Value select and they seemed OK (I played DOOM3 to test it out). I did try DDR400 1Gb sticks, but just got BSOD's booting into XP's desktop with NT errors.. On Crucial and Corsairs website, the 1Gb modules were not on the recommended list, but I got hold of some anyway and gave it a try... 512mb DDR400 worked ok though...
