Thread Starter
i have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200, Wont startup on AC power (Adapter) but can startup with battery.

The Symptom :
when plug to ac (with battery equip) : the power led, hdd n the satellite logo Lid for few seconds then off again (no display)

Turn on using Battery, all working fine. then turn off n change to AC,work fine even i un-equip the Battery.

But if i leave the Notebook turn off (unplug) for few minutes, the problem is back again.

Anybody can help me to solve this problem. TQ

new battery, new adapter, new Ram n new HDD

if started 1 time with battery, i can use AC (with or without the battery) but i leave the notebook unplug from AC for a few minutes... the symptom is back

Is the replacement battery OEM or just some compatible unit?

Bad power board, providing that the AC Adapter is in working condition - my guess.

Same system, same symptoms, same prognosis.

As battery is the only way to power this SOB, there is obviously nothing wrong with the battery.  System did once start-up on start using battery, but now doesn't.
HDD led comes on for a while on start-up, but on checking HD remotely, nothing wrong with it. Ergo, (and upon speaking with my soopa geek brother) inverter has kakked itself or some other MB based issue connected to AC power input...

I'm not surprised - Toshiba's can be bitches of systems.

I'm ripping the HD out of this and returning it to the owner in pieces and telling them to buy a new laptop. They are so cheap these days.
