Upgrade To Windows 7 Problem

Thread Starter
I have an Acer 5100 which I recently upgraded to Windows 7.
Everything is fine except when I try to type anything in
Firefox or Windows Explorer the letters or numbers are never
the correct ones when I use my keyboard to enter information.
When I use Word or any other program to enter text it works fine.
Can anyone suggest a fix for this issue or has anyone had this
issue with their 5100? Thank you carp48

Try with another browser like Chrome and see if there is any difference.

Chrome works fine. Thanks for the information. I wonder why? carp48

Probably just some settings during FF and IE - I recommend uninstalling them completely and re-install them.

No problem carp - I am not sure about un-installing IE cleanly, but there is a guide on the net about cleanly un-install FF before re-installing it. Good luck.

Dont think uninstalling IE is possible as its part of the Operating system...if IE8 doesnt work, then, I would just delete the icon and use whatever other browser that does be it Chrome or whatever

You can remove it(IE) if you're comfortable with entering commands from console.

I thought you had to but this site says different

I followed this link and got rid of Internet Explorer, or at least it doesn't show
up anywhere. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700#stepsforwin7
