Model Number?

Thread Starter
I just purchased a Sager 5660 through Notebook Savings via Ebay. I am trying to authenticate the hardware I was supposed to receive from them. I have used BelArc and have verified some of the hardware but can't tell whether I have USB 2.0 or not.
I am also puzzled by the Model Number listed on the bottome of my computer which list 5600D. Can someone advise me on how to tell what exactly I received from Notebook Savings?
Here is what I know so far:

P4 2.66
512 of ram
40 Gig 5400RPM HD by Toshiba
15" Screen, but not sure if I received the "wide angle version"

I believe the 5600D is the CLEVO model number (Clevo is the ODM - original device manufacturer who sells them to Sager/AlienWare/etc).

As for USB 2.0, did you check your Device Manger? (right-click on My Computer, select "Manage" and then click on Device Manager, and then expand the USB tabs.)

Sometimes what I'll do is use the "Config/System Test" program that comes with a lot of the newer games (like Battlefield 1942) and use their "Report" option - those usually have all kinds of goodies.

The ultimate test of what hardware you have is a Linux Install, that usually ID's many components (even if there are no linux drivers for them). Great hardware probe.
