I tryed everything, but the videos i play look like crap, Is it possible that my videos look grainy and very compressed because I have a bad pipeline on my videocard, COuld a bad pipeline do that?

Its possible

It could also be a software issue. I think its more likely a software issue.

To clear things up - how do your games look? If they look like **** too then its again 2 possibilities :-

1] Bad GPU
2] Bad Screen

tun 3D Mark and if your GPU's details are all ok then run the test - if the score is significantly lower (I think) it could mean a faulty GPU...

But wait till Adam or someone gives you advice...just check games out...

I just try playing I-Spy DVD movie on my 8887 with WinDVD Platinum yesterday. I notice a picture on LCD screen is not as crip as I hope. It's a bit grainy. But anyway, I haven't tried to play DVD movies on any LCD screen before. Is that because UXGA screen have too high resolution than the DVD movie so it show all grainny on this screen.

This is what I have noticed on LCD monitors - as well as my laptop's LCD.

I think the whole translation of an NTSC 525-line signal into a 1200-line LCD display causes some oddities.

The games I play look great, it's just when i play videos. I played videos on my friends toshiba and on my old 8886, and it look good, but when I played it on my 8887 it looked grainy and very compressed, looked like crap. I tried installing different drivers, even installed the whole OS over again, nothing helped.

Benchmark

Use Sisoft Sandra or 3D Mark and check the GPU's details - you can send a JPEG to adam by email or post it here and we'll see if there is something amiss...

You have to check the system details in the benchmarks - post whatever images you get or select the text, convert to text file and paste in your post...

it won't let me post a pic, it's a jpg at 228kb, why won't it let me post it, it keeps telling me "You have attempted to upload an invalid type of attachment. The valid extensions for attachments are: " and it says no more?

email

Yeah that happens sometimes. I can upload but it doesnt display on the forums when I open it later...

Email the file to adam and mention the link to this thread - I think he will put it in and he might clear it up for you by checking himself.

Give him the link to this thread...

where is the picture??

Can you at least use Sandra or some other software where your system details can be seen and copy paste to your post?? that should be enough...

try to get info concentrated on the GPU details...

did it get fixed?

wow that screen shot of ben stiller looks bad. What was the problem? Was it a bad ATI 9000 card or the 8887? I think my gateway solo has the same resolution as that last jpeg when I look at pictures.

No no!!

Doody - I asked you to make a screenshot if your system specifications !!!

start - run - dxdiag - ok

Now run all the tests and make screenshots of the system specs and display specs.

Or run 3D Mark 2001 and it has a tab for showing system settings - make jpegs of the screens and post those...

It also looks like the FULLSCREEN version of the flick (stretched & squashed).

FYI: Always get Letterbox (or Widescreen) versions of movies. Fullscreen sucks.

After an hour or so of gaming this is what pops up.

I would first try to reinstall the video drivers, if it doesn't work, reset default settings in the bios, reload the OS. If that doesn't work, notify the reseller you bought it from and get an RMA through Sager.
