P5020D Sleep/Suspend Problem

I have a P5020D Lifebook, running Windows XP SP3. For some time now, I have had problems with the computer coming out of suspend/sleep mode. Typically, the screen freezes, and sometimes the keyboard won't respond either.

I have tried disables all the sleep mode features I can find, but it has made no difference. The only way I can restore it is to do a re-boot. I have sees some similar posts in other forums, but none that relate to the P5020.

Any thoughts?

Try running in Safe Mode and see if there is any differences when coming out of suspend and sleep.

Sorry for the delay-got jammed up on other projects. The system seems to work fine in safe mode. I am now trying to selectively eliminate various services from starting up to see if I can locate the culprit. If anyone has run into this on a Fujitsu before, would be thankful for some clues.

Run a virus scan whilst you are at it. My take is that a good OS re-installation would be quick and less painful. Back up your personal data first.

Yep, did all that. Am still hoping to avoid having to a re-install of the OS. I have read of some similar issues with other Fujitsu P series laptops, but no real solutions...
