HELP!! have got acer one notebook and it has been loaded with the ms office package, trouble is i cannot use it because it is too big for the 1 gb that i have on the note book. I have been told that if i load say access on to a usb i can use it on the note book as it increases the memory. Is this true and if it is how do i do this. Many thx

I am not sure about running MS Access from an USB drive, Open Office portable maybe? Regardless, loading up an app from an USB stick is slow and will need just as much ram as having it on the hard drive.

What's wrong with 1GB ram? I have system with 1GB ram on XP running MS Office package with no issue. Sure there is time that it is slow, but it runs regardless.

Strange. Which OS are you using? Can you expand memory to 1.5GB? I believe that this is achievable.

i am using windows 7 on the aspire one d255 with 1gb of memory and 250gb of storage. would this be that there is ms word already on the system. It came with it when i bought it. The person assured me that it works and that he has done the same for others in the past with no trouble. Unfortunately he has gone on holiday (alright for some) otherwise i would of taken the problem to him. As nit is you were willing of which i am grateful

Your configuration (hardware specifications) is fine in supporting MS Office -

So the package is already present and you can not start it (Word, Access, Excel...)?

cheers ...
