[NP8760] Battery renewal

Thread Starter
I bought an NP8760 in June of last yr.
I'm seeing a red X over the battery icon in task bar.
And when I try to run on batter, it lasts about 10 minutes.

Apparently the Battery is done for.
I did pay for a 3 yr warranty when I bought this thing on line at Sagers website

I'm wondering if the battery is covered in that agreement. Of course I'll have to ask them but wondered if anyone here has had to change the battery inside of 7 mnths of usage.

But more importantly I'm wondering if there is a more powerful battery available that works on these notebooks?

(Not sure how much below matters so included all of it)

My current one is:
LI-POLYMER Battery Pack
Model: W860BAT-3 - 11.1v == 3800mAh 42.18Wh
6-87-W870S-421A

Even when brand new it would only run about 1 1/2 hrs or maybe a bit longer. May have something to do with the specs.

2 500GB hdd - i7 Q820 - 8GB ram

So, any input about new battery or experience with warrantys on sager notebooks would be welcome

Not sure about battery warranty inside the 3 years warranty contract, you need to check with the seller and see. But normally it'll go for 1-year full guarantee if they offer it.

I personally found out that sticking with OEM battery, meaning forgetting about the will-work on your system batteries, is a much better solution. The larger batteries, unless they are being offered as part of the configuration, are good for maybe a month or so then it go right back down as before, plus you might have to watch out for the appropriate AC adapter

cheers ...

So, to your knowledge then There are no more powerful batteries offered by the maker (clevo) or Retailer (Sager)?

I didn't even see a battery offered at all at Sager site.

Desktop Replacement systems are meant to be portable more then they are meant to be mobile. Unless something has changed since I got out of the business the battery is not covered by the warranty unless there is a manufacturer's defect. Batteries are considered "wear and tear" items and are expected to fail overtime with normal use.
