Hi all, if your still about, sorry to reserect this old thread but the info on here seems the best ive found so far.
My names nigel from the UK
Heres my problem,
Ive a Dell 1545 (one of the first models, LCD ccfl screen, NO camera on bezel) and some many months ago the screen went pink, then black. I can however just barley see whats going on with a torch on the screen. Ive also connected it to an old monitor via VGA and every thing on screen is fine. (possibly why i havent bothered to getting round to fixing it)
So it looks like an upgrade from the original CCFL is possible with a LED screen and new video cable. Id like to clarify and check some points if somone is kind enough to help.
1.do i order a new LED and possibly this cable. Cable Part # R267J. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-DELL-Inspiron-1545-15-6-R267J-LCD-Cable-With-LED-/321103654648?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item4ac344eef8 (IS THIS THE RIGHT ONE)
2. As the original screen itself is undamaged (no physical cracks etc) can i use JUST the item above as it mentions "With LED" ?
3. If i need a LED and the cable, its been a while since i looked inside the bezel, is it a straight forward swap over,?
4. What do i do with the original Inverter, or is it not needed with a LED screen?
5. Old screens are like rocking horse sh*t so cross fingers on the above.
Hope thats enough info for you to help. Thanks.
If i dont get any replies from this old thread, ill start a new Post.
