i am in the same boat with everyone commenting here...dell inspiron 1545 ccfl set up, ordered the wrong screen off ebay, was meant for this model without ccfl. ordered the conversion cable....
put it all together, turned it on, got a fuzy screen but working, not thinking right i unplugged it from the replacement inverter board which i am thinking must power up the backlight. plugged it into the other input that it would fit to but was meant for another computer. then the screen goes black. can still see everything on it if i put it under good light. so thinking that i probably shorted out the converter cables inverter board, i have ordered a new one. reading the post i am replying to has made me think that ordering the cable..R267J will be an alternative to this converter cable, also read the post about the fuse being blown, i get video when plugged into an external monitor so i am thinking that the fuse must be good still, i will save this option for last and final ditch effort to get this screen working. will put solder over the fuse to bypass it, if i loose the whole thing will be an end to my headache. and part the whole thing out! i dont understand why it worked to begin with but had a fuzzy screen! and if i had blown the fuse why does it still work on the external monitor? i will come back and let everyone know what happens with these next two cables and the bypass of the fuse also.
