HELP NONE OF MY CD ROM DRIVES WORK!!!

I don't know what happened but one day i restarted my 8890 and it showed no cd drives in my computer, the message in system manager is:
Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41) if it can;t find the hardware device how can it sense me turning on my external cd drive on and off? i am stumped any suggestions i doubt a connection got loose because the computer hasn;t moved... what do you guys think it could be and does anyone no how i would get to the connects for the 2 cd drives on the 8890? just as a last resort if it actually did come loose which i doubt? everything was working perfect.. but then i restarted and this happened!

Any help would be greatful Thanks in advance.

Did you try removing / uninstalling these drives from Device Manager, and then reboot and let windows reinstall them?

i just opend up my comp, re-arranged the cd rom drives and still no luck. they are definitly connected. yet i still get the same error code as before. this sucks because i cannot even reformat windows because i have no cd rom drives, even my damn external doesn't work somethings up.

Remove the external drives and see what happens. I the internals are recognized and work OK, then add one at a time until they dont. That may "point" you to the point of failure.

Yes, and then attach them one at at a time if they are working. May have a conflict with the externals - just a guess here.
