Hey guys,
I need the collective help here. I gave my son my M70 a while back. I've had the thing for a while and it's been bulletproof for me but I guess my son's bullets are better....
He had cooling problems soon after and we took it apart and vacuumed all the shmutz from the cooling fans and it worked fine for about 4 months.
Last week he was complaining about it being whiggy and boy is it. Upon a cold startup it does fine for 1 minute or so and then the display starts to get what looks like snow and then Windows burps to a BSOD. Trying to restart immediately the display goes solid white with nothing visible.
Letting it cool down for a while will allow you to restart, but the snow is pretty quick to return.
I realize it's an old computer, but I'd like to try and resurrect it if i can. My guess is the video card has gone flaky, but it's just that a guess.
Anybody else experience anything like this?
thanks
chris
