Asus K50 CPU upgrade questions - Page 2

Well, the P9700 is mostly being compared to the T9600, so in this case it is pretty much having the same performance with less heat winknudge.gif

So you have the T9900 in already?

cheers ...

Yep - big question for sure, but you might be the only (first) person that can confirm yes or no after a physical trial laugh4.gif

Dang. this is lame. I really want to know if its going to work.

It can run with T9600 dont u think it will run too with T9900?

What can possibly go wrong?

Yeah, qhn is right. You should give it a try. I did so with mine and it worked out fine saywhat.gif . I mean, if you get that CPU really cheap (you should) than nothing holds you back from reverting to your original config should the upgrade fail, and resale the CPU with little or no loss.
My take is that it'll work just fine. I've looked around and there are same models with Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz coming up in search. That's good indicator of your chipset's (NVIDIA MCP751 btw) flexibility.
Either way good luck and come back to tell the story w00t.gif

PS: you may want to update your BIOS to the latest version before you start (make sure to select correct OS and update consequently not directly to the latest as skipping BIOS update releases proved to kill some ASUS laptops before ohmy.gif )
