What clock is the gpu at? The default and if so, what may that be?
Could you run the 3dMark03 benchmark please?
What kind of gaming performance do you get on games like ut2004, cod, bf1942? (eg: the fps and general smoothness)
How is the build of the machine? Cos i might consider getting an Acer Aspire 2023 which has pretty much the same specs but with the 128mb mobility radeon 9700!

Thanks

err how do I check what clock the gpu is at?

I am not sure whether u can check the clock without any programs, but if u use powerstrip, u can find out what it is and change it as well.

3dmark03 = 2534
resolution = 1024x768
Default settings in 3dmark03, default everything on newly purchased laptop.
I'm hoping to pull a higher # than that 2534... come on 9700 do your damn job.

ahh i can see why now, the default clock is kinda low compared to other machines with similar specs.
I thin kit was a voodoo pc notebook or something that put a clock of about 500 engine and 300 memory and it gave a much better score without any graphic glitches and problems.
But if u overclock do so at your own risk, though i would say that for a 9700 card, that is a low clock.

How is the battery life and the screen quality?

Dear RyanV

The casing (the notebook body) of your Aspire 2012 is made of what material? I was about to buy one when I figured out that Acer does not advertise an aluminum casing for Aspire 2010 series. Just for 2000 and 2020 series. Have sent a couple of messages to local Acer support… they are hopeless. This is why I would be very grateful to you if you could tell me the kind of material Acer used for the 2010 series. It would be also great if you could post some pictures.

Thanks a lot.
