win xp pro install and driver updates

I am about to put win xp pro on my desktop and was just wondering what order things should be installed in (if it makes a difference). For example, i ususally install vid drivers first, then chipset then soundcard and then do the windows update thing.

So is it going to matter what gets installed first?

don't do the drivers update on the windows update page. Especially if you get one for ATI drivers. You will be forced to roll the driver back in safe mode.

I usually do the chipset and controller drivers first. Then a reboot. After that sound, video, network and others. I never reboot after any of those.
