Where can I get a break down of the motherboard on this Laptop that will tell me Which components are and where they are on the board.

Would you have any specific error codes or messages for us? We can all hope that the simple thing would be a bad hard drive,

There are no error codes. The problem is that when it starts up it go's thru post then starts beeping continually till it wants to know what OS it should load but it can't load anything. Have gotten it to load after running fingers over all keys on board but then when it does load Vista all it wants to do is type the Letter "k". Even if I remove the Keyboard form the laptop it still does the same thing. Have tryed to use external keyboard no help. Gateway will not help any. I would like to find a Schematic that tells me where every thing is on the motherboard.

thanks  Wayne

P.S.

There has not been anything spilled on laptop.

I would remove the keyboard and try it with an external USB keyboard. This would tell us if the keyboard is really gone or not.

Also try swapping out the ram modules, using one at a time if you have 2 and see.
