8790 Reunion ... Where are you now?

... going slightly off topic, back in 2004 when the NP8790 was the King of Notebooks, the Sager Forums especially the 8790 Tech section was the in-place to be for Q&A.

I think everything I ever had problems with or whatever, someone had ideas/answers.

Where is everyone now?
Have you still got your 8790?
What Notebook have you got now? ... still with Sager?

G-Omaha just updated his 8790-review thread (still going).

Mine melted down yearrrrrs ago and I replaced it w/ a 5760 (that I'm typing this on as my desktop died the day before yesterday).
Thinking about picking up another, newer, smaller Sager.

Two replacement MoBos later, I still have mine. When I got it back the last time, I applied a home remedy to the graphics chip, and it ran for a year without a heat problem. Then, my lcd inverter went out, and I got one from Hong Kong and replaced it, but the connector has heat cracked, so I'm trying to find a harness at a reasonable price, before I put it back together.

Other than the heat issues, and the resulting failures (lol), it's been a very reliable and durable machine. If you guys only knew what it's been through-ha-!
