Compaq nx6125 SD card reader problem

Hi Everyone!

My employer just repurposed a laptop and assigned it to me. It is a Compaq nx6125 (CND6192T8 PZ896UA) running Windows 7 Ultimate. Nice laptop, runs good, weighs a ton! LOL!

My problem is that the SD card reader is non-functional. When I insert my memorystick Pro, nothing happens. I have a bang in device manager (Mass Storage Device). It says the drivers are not installed for this device.

I have searched high and low for this driver to no avail. I have searched the HP site and even purchase a subscription to DriverMax and have still not been able to find the driver.

If anyone could help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance and have a great day!

Why are you seraching the HP site for the driver when it's Compaq laptop? Did you try here? http://www.compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html

You need to get the PCI_VEN number from the device manager, then hunt down the driver from there for Windows 7.
