Clevo P150HM: Out of box thoughts

System ordered from rjtech.com

Personal Feelings: Out of box experience was pretty cool. I have a Mac Book Pro and construction does not seem anywhere near comparision. I put a cd in and the thing could be heared spinning and making a vibrating noise. The Mac never makes such a racket. The Fans are much louder on the clevo and dont even move as much air. On fans set to max I can really feel the mac blowing air. No such movement from the air vents on the clevo. The sound on the mac book pro is amazing. It has a deep rich sound that seems very real. The clevo has a electronic sound to it and cant achieve the same lvl of sound as the mac book pro. Overall I like the Keyboard on the clevo. The macbook has lights under the keys and I guess clevo doesnt offer that feature. The Keyboard is very spaced out on the Clevo. If you have really big clumsy fingers you will love this keyboard. I am use to the compact style of the Mac but I have a feeling I will enjoy this keyboard as I get to learn it. I mistype everyonce in a while because Im not use to the spacing. I'm not a fan of the webcam but the mac book pro comes with one too. I really like the fingerprint reader. I didnt pay extra so it must come standard. It works well. If I had sensitive data, which I dont, I would feel safe with this feature. I like how the power button is built into the designe of the laptop. I hate how some laptop power buttons stick out like a sore thumb.Overall I am very pleased with it. It isnt anywhere near the Mac book in quality but the Mac cant run games so, Meh.

Oh one last thing. The mac book cost me ~2400 dollars the clevo cost ~1400. I only added mem, cpu, HDD, and wireless card. BTW I LOVE the 6300 wireless card. I am pulling 700 KB/sec off websites that the mac is only pulling 50KB/sec. Seriously this card screams. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this card. Fastest speeds I have ever seen.

A nice quick and informative input :headbang:

Thanks for the info, I'm thinking of getting one especially for the the witcher 2.
I wouldn't be expecting any great build quality on it, my precisions are quite well built, but are subjected to treatment this is unlikely to ever be.
More about what components your getting for the money and the performance in games to me...horses for courses as they say.

The Clevo P150HM / Sager np8150 is everything one would expect from a reputable builder like Clevo. This is my 2nd Clevo purchase and I

am very happy with the P150HM. I went with the 2nd generation Intel Sandy Bridge processor by way of the i72670qm - 2.2 GHZ to 3.1 GHZ

over-clocked. I have 12 GB of SODIMM 1066 204 pin memory, and chose the Ge-force GTX 560m graphics card. I like the speed, response and

performance of my Clevo - especially for what I do with it. I am not a gamer but I edit and produce short films and videos for You Tube and

home use. I also download a lot of movies, music and pictures from the net. As well I surf the internet and am a hobby blogger with 5

blogs. I'd like to distribute a variety of Clevo makes and models - especially this one - the Clevo P150HM, to friends and associates. I've

gotten so into my Clevo laptop lately that I am considering becoming an IT specialist. I like good branding and reliable Windows PC's over

the Apple / Mac's - especially when a good brand works well and is as solid as the day is long if kept up to date and performance ready

with good software utilities and programs now on the market. I give the Clevo P150HM 2 big thumbs up and would rate it A+++. I look forward

to the future of Clevo, the most dependable laptops I have ever owned in the 18 years of buying PC's. I've had a few notebooks from Dell to

Samsung in the past, but Clevo is rock solid as far as my experience goes.

Highly Recommended!!!

I like that cover ... nice looking. Something extra you ordered? And that was a quick "resume" :headbang:

Thanks so much! Some folks on You Tube hated the cover. Yes, covers are an option for about $70 more at Xotic PC out of Nebraska. Great service and quick turnaround time with new orders. Here is another video I made of some stats on the np8150:
