hi
please help me out.
my laptop (acer aspire 5520) has problems with the dvd drive. it also had undetected sound devices which i some how brought to work by installing and deinstalling drivers(note the dvd problem was there before i did all this).
the dvd drive is undetected in windows and also automatically ejects the drive tray at system start if any cd is present(bootable or non-bootable).
i tried driver updates and other troubleshot methods available but could not make the system find the drive.
the drive ejects automatically even if u enter bios setup menu.
i even flashed the bios in windows mode and also dos mode using a usb. flashing was a successfull one but did not solve the problem.
i then installed ubuntu 10.10 but no success and on top the sound device dont work again.
the dvd drive is not faulty because i also exchanged my siblings dvd drive but the same problem, the drive works fine on the other laptop.
please help me out with this problem.
