FL90 black screen

Hi,

 

I have a compal FL90 which seems to be death.

One day I closed my laptop, so it was in sleepmode, when i opened it again I just had a black screen.

 

I turned of the laptop but the screen remains black.It does not seem to boot. Because when I press the power button, it shutdows immediately. I also connected it to an external screen but nothing.

 

When I power it on, the dvd led blinks. The fan spins for a second and that's it.

 

Any idea's what could be the problem and how I can fix it ?

You can try the old trick of removing and re-installing the ram modules and the hard drive. But my feeling is that the GPU gave up on you.

Hi,

 

shouldn't windows still boot then ?

Because it doesn't boot at all. vent goes on for a sec.

Tested my HDD, that works

Removed RAM and still nothing

Nope - if the GPU is fried then not much you can do about it.

last option is to bake the card i did and it worked back to full operation barring testing external display, oven temp 180 middle of oven 10 mins exactly left it to cool off without touching it put it back in works fine wish everthing was as simple aye.
