Advice for replacing 5 year old Dell Inspiron 9300

Thread Starter
I have an Inspiron 9300 that the monitor is about to go (vertical colored lines).

I am looking to replace with another 17" laptop. Any reason to buy an Inspiron vs. the Vostro?

I will not game on it; mainly internet, watching DVDs and some work (excel, access, ppt, word). Looking to keep it under $900 shipped.

How about the monitor, I see WLED with TrueLife or LED with anti-glare, what is the main difference?

Thanks for any advice

Hard to say about screen preference, you should try to go to a store and check them out personally. Inspiron and Vostro are both good series from Dell - just picking up the one that fits your budget

cheers ...

The thing i woud look at is the GPU/CPU options get the laptop that gives you the best GPU CPU combo.
