Buying Sager from the US

Howdy people, love the new look and format of the forum.

Was thinking about buying a Sager NP8150 from the US as there is no agent or reseller that I can tell in New Zealand.
They obviously ship fairly regularly overseas going by their configuration/checkout page but couldn't find much on their
site about what happens if warranty is needed, they seem pretty relaxed on people doing upgrades etc and don't have "void if removed"
stickers plastered over everything and just looking at a video of how it is put together, seems very easy to access all components.

Obviously shipping the complete notebook back and forth is totally impractical, and was wondering if anybody knew how Sager [or one of the seemingly excellent sager resellers] would handle such a scenario considering it looks as though it's not all that uncommon for people outside the US to buy directly from there.

Thanks in advance for any comments or advice.

I just made an username here to ask just about the same thing. I'm outside of U.S., have the cash but don't have credit card with the limit of the customization I want. I was willing to go to the U.S. to get the laptop.

I would recommend contacting PCTorque (http://www.pctorque.com/)

They might be able to help you. But I'd imagine you'd be paying a premium for shipping.

Although it won't make sense to order from outside the US if you are expecting to buy an extended warranty. They won't cover it.

ya, will try contacting them and Sager directly Steve, the price is very competitive including freight and GST when it got here.
I'm hoping they would maybe honor some sort of parts only warranty, but will find out.

I've ordered a couple times (8790 + 5760) and may possibly get another (8150?).

The 8790 was through PC Torque and the 5760 was directly through Sager. Both times shipped to Japan.

IIRC, the warranty would be in effect, but I would've had to've sent the machine to Sager in the US. That's the hitch.
