My sister should sue American Airlines, and she's not even the suing type. This long weekend, she went to Vegas. First flight to Dallas: delayed. Second flight to Vegas: cancelled. They were for some reason then sent to LA, where they rented a car and drove to Vegas. First flight back to New York: delayed. Next flight to Toronto: cancelled. They then shipped them (my sister and her boyfriend) to another airport, and put them on standby, which they didn't make, because only room for one opened up. They are STILL stuck in New York, and just said they would probably have to stay the night, even though there is a flight from NY to Toronto EVERY HOUR!
That is absolutely the worst service/airline I have ever heard of. At the very least, at the end of this ordeal, AA should get a nice fat bill for all expenses incurred, time lost at work, and for hardships.
Now I remember why I will never fly to/through the US.
edit: they finally got on a flight and are currently on their way back. A mere 24 hours after starting out.
