VGN-Z610Y disassembly problem

Hi guys,

This is my first time asking a question so if I've left out some relevant information, please let me know.

I need to replace the right hinge. I have removed everything down to the palmrest frame. There are 8 detents to disengage the frame, 3 on the front, one on the right side and 2 each side of the back inside of the hinges and 2 on the outside of the hinges. I can disengage all but the 2 on the outside of the hinges. They don't want to come apart easily and I don't want to break the frame. Is there some trick to disengaging these two detents? I did purchase the service disassembly manual from Manual Paradise but it only says to disengage the detents, not how to. The two detents in question seem to be stuck to the Power Switch on the right and to the power jack on the left but I can't see anything holding them together.

Thanks

I couldn't get an image of the detents, they are hidden tightly between the frame and the power hardware. This what I see:

The above pics are for the Z series - see if you can make sense out of those looking at your hardware. The detents might need to be pried off when the lid is either fully open or closed. Go easy.

a small straight slot screwdriver will do the trick...it's really simple... they slide out sideways left and right respectively.

Thanks to those who responded. Sorry about the delay, I've been on the road. I did find this out after pulling in all directions, using pry bars of all sorts trying to lift it straight up as the disassembly drawing showed. The button and power connector covers just slide out sideways and the detent has no bearing on that at all. I do wish they had put arrows on the drawing.
