LIFEBOOK X2 (concept) folded notebook

The LIFEBOOK X2 concept takes a different approach to portability. It’s not only thin, but also folds into quarters which leads to some interesting features. Open the LIFEBOOK X2 halfway and you have sort of an ultra widescreen palm top. Unfold it completely and you have one full size notebook. This denotes a seam running right across the LCD which is enough for me to dismiss it but the idea is intriguing. What’s say you?

Concepts seem weird to me. Unpractical.

I like it ... innovative, and sure is practical - sliding devices are compact and cool, beat carrying different parts.

The seam is actually better then I would expect considering it's two LCDs. Very cool although I still want one regular Notebook that will unfold and have two full screens!

Also the seam in the middle is not a big deal at all, any of you who have ever owned an older Sony CRT should remember based on the size of the screen the one or two suspension wires that used to run across the screen roughly 1 pixel in size, and the seam in this screen shot looks to be the equiv..... I like it portability is not as much a novelty as it seems with this unit, but my only gripe from the pics is the raised palm rest its higher than the keyboard and I am not sure how natural that will feel typing on it.

I kinda like its pretty well thought out. The PDA like feature is neat on the go... I noticed the mm buttons on the palm rest on the sides, thats pretty slick almost didnt see them. By they way is that linux I see on that screen? =)

The raised palm rest might not be that bad; it may help keep your wrist straight if you slouch like the rest of us - granted your not "supposed" rest your wrist on the keyboard.
